All Philips Region Hack May not Work!

Sorry if you were offended by the heading of my post. That was not my intention. I was sharing my experience.
You say if I did some research I would know that my player cannot play rce discs. If that is true please post details of where you got that information as I cannot even find info regarding my model and I have done a lot of research and can find only two other people who actually own an 820 and their experiences are exactly the same as mine.
You suggest upgrading my firmware. How do I check the version I currently have. Its not printed on the back the only info on the back of the player is the model/revision number (820/691)and the serial number. I cannot find it within the menu.
Any help would be appreciated.

All Philips Region Hack May not Work!

Hi, I own a Philips DVD820 player. I have searched the net for every possible hack to no avail! I have tried Rc6 code using One 4 All remote (URC7560 model) but the setup code doesn`t work (0539) so used alternate setup code(0503) which does control dvd player but it still didn`t work (magic 085 222 222 005 255). I have tried every philips remote hack (2 7 4 and 1 5 9) doesn`t work either! Been all over Allan Verth`s site no luck. Sent heaps of emails all over the world. No luck!
I am unable to even find a reference to the Philips dvd820. The closest model numbers I can find are the dvd825 or the dvd718. Has anybody even heard of my model? I purchased it in Singapore(region3) 2 years ago and had no trouble playing any region ever until the new encoded discs came out. I hired a region 1 disc from my local store (The Kid-Disney) I got a blue screen saying disc playback unauthorised consult owners manual. Usually I get a splash screen with the map of the world saying wrong region etc but I was able to get around that easily. Now I think my player is locked in region 3 I live in Australia region 4. I know the players fine as it can still play a couple of ALL region disc I have. Im not sure what firmware I have as the instructions to get into hidden menus etc also do not work with my model. ANY Help would be greatly appreciated.
regards,
Baggins.
