What`s the latest hack for new players from PHILIPS such as Q50?

Including the MINI DVD stereo system, and DVD-TV combo players?Other PHILIPS related brands too?YAMAHA,LEOWE,MARANTZ?

RE: A couple of VCD related sites here

"SVCDs can have 5.1 sound, but very rarely."

I`m sorry, you are wrong with this. SVCD is a better improve format over the standard version 2.0 or 3.0 VCD. But that applies to visual quality only, the audio is still 2 channel stereo or dual language mono.

SVCD is currently a hot format in china and hongkong, but not all over asia. Therefore, SVCD software is not widely available in the market. VCDs currently sold by online retailers are not 100% SVCD, but SVCD player compatible.

RE: Philips DVD957-does OneforAll hack work?

My DVDplayer DVD951(asian model) was hacked using the one4all remote, i am now viewing discs from 1,2,3 and 4 release. This player is not commonly mentioned, possibly because this is a mid end player, or possibly most ht fanatics here have 5.1 decoding hardware that doesn`t require any player that do on board DTS/DD decoding.

RE: Philips 703 model hackable?

The 750hack should work with most PHILIPS players.
Anyway,DVD703 is the lowest end player of the 700series.It serves the basic functions without any on board DD/5.1 decoding. It plays mp3.
If you are looking for a PHILIPS player that plays mp3 + 5.1 audio processing, check out the DVD761k which is goning to be available in the australia in coming weeks.

Owners of new PHILIPS MATCHLINE DVD players take note...

Asia / Australia model DVD 951,UK / Europe model DVD957 with on-board DTS surround sound decoding.
Below is what i experience from playing numbers of discs, some of them plays smoothly, some with hiccups(freezes for a short while during the change of chapter),some do not play at all. This is probably due to the firmware that comes with the player-8.xx.

OK=smooth playback,HICCUPS=picture freeze during chapter change

My DVD951 was hacked to be multi region compatible by the retailer using a non-supplied remote, possibly the RC6 hack with "222 222 005 255 play".
I will continue to update to you with my latest finding on other disc playbacks.

RE: PHILIPS DVD951 hacked,but...i still can`t play...

So far,i have not try to hack the machine myself,i do not have the required remote control only the one supplied with the player.Although i had read some response in this forum that the player maybe hackable with the supplied remote,i did not do it(i don`t have that GUTS!).
I have checked the disc with another player,PHILIPS DVD725(Asian+Australian model, with karaoke function,U.S model DVD825AT) it plays the disc fine, the WARRIOR survives throughout the whole show.
Currently, the player can play the R1 GLADIATOR`s 2nd disc without any problem,it can play R1 DTS-THE HAUNTING too without any hiccups.I don`t think that my disc have any problem at all.The player plays all FOX DTS disc fine.

I have one query in mind, after i had read other`s postings, somebody mentioned that the RC6 hack`s 222 222 005 255 <- for DVD players with scart connections,i wonder did the retailer key in the wrong numbers to my player, cos my player do not have any.
Maybe i did not post the detail discription of my player, that may have mislead you.As mentioned,my player is the ASIAN version of the DVD957 currently sold in the UK,with on-board DTS decoding and six channel analogue surround output. No scart connections, only standard RCA connectors.

RE: PHILIPS DVD951 hacked,but...i still can`t play...

The player was hacked by the retailer using a big remote control,i wonder if its the IR transmitter that you guys are talking about.According to them, there is no chipping done.

"AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I am sorry that i might have missed out some other old threads that you may have mentioned about the little dot as that last digit.Yes,i have noticed that.
When i do as according the procedure mentioned in the info section, after i had keyed in that 12 digits followed by "PLAY",the player does not respond to go to "NO DISC" display.

My player is the latest model from PHILIPS,the same model that is currently sold in the UK as DVD957.

RE: PHILIPS DVD951 hacked,but...i still can`t play...

I have tried to use the PHILIPS 750 hack as suggested by most and this site, but it does not work.I can only key in 11 digits only.

PHILIPS DVD951 hacked,but...i still can`t play...

Hello everybody,i am new here.I had just recently purchased a DVD951(2000 model),with hacking done by the retailer.I am able to play some discs from region1,2 and 4 but not all.
When i load in R1 GLADIATOR,it access to the sound menu of the feature disc. When i pressed OK,to any one of the surround sound selection, the player returns DISC ERROR.
Do anybody know what had really happen to my player?

I do not have a ONE FOR ALL remote control, can i do the hacking with the supplied remote?
I have checked the PHILIPS software number,it is "PHILIPS `99-`00 8.05 000920 P96"
