Grundig 220 and rce disks

I have a Grundig 220 wich I have set to region free on the menu. Does anyone know if this will play region1 RCE disks. If it will not play them is it just a matter of selecting region 1 from the menu and is there a limit on the amount of times I can switch region codes from this menu.
