Just bought an Aiwa 370.

Really. I have been looking for a player over the last 4 weeks. was basically gonna get a 3550 or an SD-100E cos no more Aiwa`s available.

Was out shopping today...wandered into Comet.. went over to DVD Players and there it is:-

" Discontinued line reduced from £199 to £179".

Total of £215 with 5 year warranty.

Sorted.

One question. I am using a cheap scart...would a decent cable enhance visual/audio quality? If so by how much? ie is it worth it?

Ok either you`re a slow reader or you`ve been reading with your eyes closed! In which case may I suggest the following:

.. why don`t you search through the comments in this forum about the players and make your mind up about which seems better - i.e. less valid complaints and more valid praises.

If the thought of doing a little research for yourself seems daunting then you may as well just pick a player at random.

Thank you 007

I have read EVERY relevant thread in the forum actually. I am not a slow reader at all and I am certainly not afraid of some research (hence me being here).

My negative comments were aimed at those people who feel that is appropriate to conduct a slanging match in a public forum where people are genuinely trying to pick-up some information. I do not find their conduct acceptable and I am guessing that many others do not either.

In reference to your other points I am finding it very difficult to make a decision despite all of the useful (yes there were some) advice and experiences relayed by posters in this forum. I came to this forum 2 weeks ago not knowing that RCE, MacroVision or remote-hacks even existed. DVD is an emerging field and i am not up-to-speed.

Since my post earlier today there have been some very helpful posts.

If u r interested I think that I will be buying either:

An LG 3550 (for all the features and the high quality)
or a modded Tosh SD-100 (for picture/sound quality, the Tosh brandname and the macro defeat).

Jimbo i actually would buy an Aiwa if i could get one :o)

Thanks again,
