I had this exact problem for my Sony RDRHX725. I changed the command mode and my remote wouldn`t work! I wouldnt hold your breath waiting on a response on these forums. I posted my question on 10th Jan and yup: 0 replies.

I have still not been able to hack my player following the Sony 500 hack and had no response!
Anyway, i assume most Sony`s operate in the same way. I was panicking because i have nearly 160gb of material on mine which could not be accessed!!
Hold ENTER on Sony Remote and try either 1, 2 or 3 for the relevant command mode.

Sony RDRHX725 - multiregion hack prob
Hello,
Im using a universal remote (7740) but cannot seem to get the region free advice to work from this site. When programming each number the device is supposed to flash twice but it does not happen.
Has anyone been successful in hacking this player?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
I called Sony and a very helpful lady advised me to:
Hold ENTER on Sony Remote and try either 1, 2 or 3 for the relevant command mode.
Miracle of miracles i am back in business!
Now all i need is to make it multi-region!!

Hello,
I have been trying to make my dvd recorder multi-regional by following the intructions in this forum. To do this i am using a universal 4-in-1 (model 7740) and had to change the command mode from the default DVD3 to DVD1 on my recorder. Now, upon reading my manual, it says "you will be unable to operate this recorder" after doing this. D`oh!
The region change did not work and now my Sony remote is inoperable. I have filled nearly all of the 160gb and would cry if i had to abandon it!!
Perhaps someone has a suggestion. I tried my local Sony centre here in the UK but they were as much use as a chocolate fireguard and basically said Sony would tell me to get stuffed - customer care eh?!!
any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will dance at your wedding if you can help me!!
