Playstation 2 game recommendations ?

Having relied for years on my good old PC, today I picked up a PS2 on the cheap. Can you kind people recommend your favourite games (any type) i.e. ones heavily hyped, well-reviewed, initially sold at £40 and now readily available 2nd-hand for a fiver.

(Alternatively, anyone know any PS2 sites with a back-catalogue of game reviews ?)
