About this user: My problem with the Philips DVD 730/002 :
Software 97-98 2.17 P1
I try do change region 1 (play 2,4,7 then 005000129156) it works and then back(002...)o.k
But the the software is changed to 97-98 2.1 P2
How i can get newest software and which version is it,and instructions please?
My player plays CD with DTS soundtracks but NOT
DVD´s with DTS Soundtrack,it always stay in AC-3.
Please help

Hi Brian,

i have now the firmware, but it doesnt help because my 730/002
doesnt recognice CD-R.Do you also have a /002 version and does it
play a CD-R?

Help for Philips DVD 730/002

My player doesnt read CD-R--it say "No Disc".
Is that standart,or do I need aspecial brand?
I used 5 different brand and also different burning speeds-
from 1X to 4X--no difference.
As i want to upgrade my very old Firmware( 2.17 )the player have to read CD-R.
All my burned CD have absolutly no problem on my Philips Cd player.

Which brand for Philips DVD730 CD-R Firmwareupload Format?

Which brand i should use to upgrade my firmware for the Philips 730?
Actually i burned the Fujifilm(700MB)silver with the software and the
player respond "no disc" ?
Then i tried burned audio CD -the are working very well on certain
Cd players-but always i get the same message.
I tried:
TDK CD-R80, Traxdata silver, BASF ceram Guard, BASF Extra,
Platinium
There are also no problems with regular DVD´s or Cd´s.
The format for the firmwareupgrade is Isolevel 1, Mode 2.
Is that correct or should i select Isolevel 2 ?

What is the newest Firmware version for the Philips DV 730/002 ?
Customer service from Philips told me 2.18 is that o.k?
If somebody have a newer Firmware as 2.17 P2 can you send email
that or where i can get it?

My player is DVD 730/002. Software was 97-98 2.17 P1
No original remotecontrol,but the Philips Pronto

Problem 1:
Play a CD with DTS sound works,DTS get out on the digital output.
Play a DVD with DTS(and DD)soundtrack and select DTS (on the disc menu)there is still DD output, and NO way to get DTS output.?!

Problem 2?
Changed to region1 -"play 247" --type"005000128156" then "play"
Its worked then i switched back( "002000128156"-everything is working,
but the soft(firm)ware changed to P.2
Is this a problem?
