Technosonic DTS2004 AV out problem
I am new to this forum and would be grateful for some help.
I have posted the question in another forum on this site but it was as a reply to an old post so in case it is not read I though I would try again here.
I bought one of these in car dvd players with two screens it works fine except:
1. There seems to be a red pixel constantly on when ever the screen is powered up. I understand that it is not uncommon to have one or two "dead" pixels. Is that correct?
2. When I try to connect the a cable to the AV out socket I cannot get it to work. I have bought several leads with a 3.5mm jack to 3 phono plugs and when they are connected to the appropriate plugs on the tv there is no picture and if I swop them about I can get a picture but there is lots of interference and the sound is distorted.
I have seen on another posting that it is possible to rewire the 3.5mm plug to allow a PS2 to connect to the screen and I wondered if I need to do the same for the output to work.
Has any one else tried to connect the player in this way and has it worked or is the product defective?
RE: Technosonics DTS2004 In Car Player - Hack Here!!!
I am new to this forum and this is more a question than a reply but this is the only place I have found this information on the net.
I bought a DTS2004 before our summer holiday and it kept the children (and parents!) happy on the long journey.
I have two issues though.
1. There is one red spot on the screen when its on. I understand that it is not uncommon to have one or two duff pixels is this correct?
2. I tried to use the yellow AV out socket to connect the DVD unit to the phone inputs on a tv using a lead bought from Maplin (and I have also tried a few other shops) and it doesn`t work. If I connect the correct colour plugs on the TV there is no picture and if I swap them about I get a picture with lots of interference and distorted sound.
I thought there was a problem with the unit but I saw Andys note about rewiring the plug in the last post and wondered if that might work for me? Also why is this necessary and is it a fault after all?
