RE: Technosonics DTS2004 In Car Player - Hack Here!!!

Hi Simon,

Although it is not uncommon to have 1 or 2 `stuck` pixels per screen I personally would not accept it - I`d take it back get it exchanged and ask to test it in the shop.

I`ll check when I get home to see if the modified plug works on the AV out socket of the DVD player.

When I took the original plug that I bought to bits, I was surprised to find that the common wasn`t wired to the strain relief part of the plug as is normally the case - I think most of the 3.5mm to Phono converters are for PC`s which are maybe wired differently ??

I`ll post later to let you know if my lead works.

Andy

PS. I`ve just returned from holiday and the DVD/PS2 kept both of my boys quiet for over 5 hours of travel !! Thumbs up for Toys R Us and Technosonic

RE: Technosonics In Car DVD System

Phil,

Top man - I`ve just bought the player for my car and have been searching around for a R1 hack. We`re now watching our R1 version of `Finding Nemo`.

If anyone is interested I`ve also got hold of an AV adaptor to allow my son to use his PS2. It`s here --> www.lindy.com/uk/productfolder/03/35/35539/index.php however the 3.5mm jack is wired wrong and I had to get a new one from maplins (cost £1)and re-wire it.

Plug wiring is as follows:

common wired to strain relief/cable grip
next video (yellow phono socket) - wired to tip
next audio - left (white phono socket)
next audio - right (red phono socket)

Theres a drawing(ish) of it here --> 195.137.126.99/plug.jpg
Good luck

Andy
