RE: Can I make Sumsung dvd-r120 BOTH NTSC and PAL ?
If you have a region 1 version of this machine and load the region 2 firmware onto it, I think the input/output becomes PAL format. I haven`t personally tried this so it`s my best guess. Anyone know for sure?
Anyway, the region 2 firmware is hackable to region-free and supports DiVX, so it would be nice to be able to load that region-2 version onto a region-1 machine and switch the output to NTSC from a menu somehow. Somebody please post if you know of a way to do this.

By the way is this version PAL-only, or does it have an option to switch to NTSC?
Samsung DVD-R120 DVD Recorder Hack
Apparently the Samsung S224 hack works on Region-2 versions of this machine. However, the Region-1 version of the DVDR120 doesn`t respond to the same hack. I tried all the different variants of it and none of them worked. No matter what I do, the machine just changes channels when I start entering code numbers.
Besides the region limitation, the American version also has MPEG-4 (Divx) disabled, so it really would be nice to free it up. The firmware version shown on the language screen of my Region-1 unit is TS01. Any ideas?
