i assume you know that a multi region hack exists.
The Matsui 110 DOES have a hack for it to play VCD`s.
I have been advised the 120 DOES as well. Similair to multiregion hack for 120. But the person concerned wont tell me!!. The 120 is a good cheap and nasty model. Ideal for 1st DVD player. But the quality isnt the best particularly on films filmed in the dark. I`ll try to find out the hack. Also macrovision as well
