I have had the same problem in April. The same "BLOCKED" message appeared at the time I wanted to watch something I had recorded. I tried every above mentioned sollution without succes. The only thing I could do is to return the 4 month old DVDR to the dealer who sent it back to the factory. After (only) 3 weeks I was able to collect the machine from the dealer.
Yesterday I tried to install the DVD without succes. When I put the machine on it said on the display "START UP" and that was all it does. Pushing buttons on the machine or remote control was no sollution. It is still in a sort of blocked position. The dealer told me 2 days ago when I collected the machine that the soft ware in the machine was completely reset. The DVD should still be in the machine but the machine is still unusable.
Today...I go back again to the dealer. When I can get rid of this machine and get another one that would be fine. No more Philips for me!
