RE: Scan SC-2000 - Upgrading your Player Firmware.

I have just installed 208 over 204s with no problem and have noticed the following
On 204s when 4:3 LB or 4:3 PS were selected the rotating disc on display would often stop rotating and the time display would often stop then jump 4 or 5 seconds and sometimes go backwards. This did not effect the playback and did not happen on 16:9 setting. After installing 208 this has now been corrected and the disc rotation/time is now ok on all settings.
Macro was disabled on 204s(00000003) and is still disabled on 208(00000003)

RE: Letterbox on Scan and matrix pain

Could another scan owner please check the Tv aspect settings on their machine as I believe mine are mixed up (ie 16:9 wide setting gives a pan & Scan picture on my non widescreen t.v) The settings on my machine read from top to bottom:
4:3 PS
4:3 LB
16:9 WIDE

Thanks

RE: Updating the Scan2000

I too originally had problems with Nero but with the settings I got from chris4510 (thanks) it worked fine, they are as follows

Copy tdvd-000.ROM file with no file attributes as a CDROM (ISO).
Under the file options tab select ISO Level 2, Mode 2/XA, Character Set should be Dos. All the other options on this page should be off

Scan Firmware

Has anyone successfully used Nero to burn their cd rom for the scan firmware ? If so what are the correct file settings. I have tried 4 times but the scan seems unable to read it.

RE: Are you satisfied with your Scan SC-2000 player ?

so far so good with my scan, I have new firmware 2.04 but have not installed it yet, waiting to see of any problems on this forum

RE: Do I have a problem with my scan ?

Thanks for the reply Rob, I have watched a few films since and 2 of these (Kevin & Perry, Chicken run) play with a full screen when the setting is set to 16:9 even though my T.V is 4:3. But the other one (Perfect storm) didn`t. I take it it`s something to do with the ratio the film is produced in. Whatever it is it`s confusing the hell out of me!

Do I have a problem with my scan ?

I`ve just bought a scan dvd player and am relatively pleased with it, am I right in thinking that on 4:3 PS tv aspect setting the picture should fill the whole of the screen on my t.v (I don`t have a widescreen t.v) ? as this setting is identical to 4:3 LB mode i.e with the black bars top & bottom on all the discs I have tried so far.
