RE: liteon 5005 firmware

Hi
You need a program to open the RAR file. The program I used was winrar you can find a trial version here http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm download the trial version. Once you have downloaded winrar, run it and extract the file you downloaded from liteon. You then burn the extracted file to CD, after that follow liteons instruction. please make sure you download the right firmware update for you machine.
Hope that helps

Liteon LVW 5005 MP3 hassle

Hi
Still generally happy with the liteon however, I do have one small gripe. I have most of my CD collection burnt onto DVD in MP3 format I have 400-500 tracks on each DVD. The MP3`s are in album folders. My problem is there does not seem to be a MP3 menu so you cannot select a folder open it select track then play. I have no room to have one of my old DVD players on my AV stack that has this function.Basically at it means that all tracks are numbered 1-400 for example. Imagine the hassle I have if I want to play the last few tracks from an album near the end. I would have to press forward over 300 times. Is this right or am I missing a menu or hack that solves this. I have installed the new official firmware from the liteonit site.
Any suggestions
Kaipa

Cheap as chips Liteon LVW5005

Just had to say I have bought a Liteon LVW5005 DVD recorder from Agros for £120 and you get a ten pound gift voucher back. That makes it £110 now that must be the cheapest DVD recorder around. It works a treat, plays any media disk you throw at it and does not look back either. Now I just need the 3 hour play back hack and I am sorted.........yippeeeee I love a a bargain
