RE: JVC TH-A35 compatability probs

I`ve had a reply from JVC too... at least this one sounds a little more technical, but no solution provided!!

Unfortunately we are unable to provide an accurate diagnosis as to the difficulty that you are experiencing with the connection of your X-Box to the JVC TH-A35R Home Cinema System.

We recommend that you contact the disributor of the X-Box to determine whether the optical output of this unit should be activated through any customer operating procedure.

In the instance that the problem persists please contact the dealer from
whom the product was purchased in order that the optical input/output can
be examined to see whether a fault exists.

DAMN IT !!

RE: JVC TH-A35 compatability probs

thanks for the info tisal, i will keep you posted.
i sent an e-mail to jvc last night explaining the problem so hopefully they will offer some advice but i think it may just be one of those things too...
shame really cos i really like the jvc system. i`ve had my xbox for a long time but have only just gotten around to getting it `hooked-up`... or not as the case seems to be!

cheers again.

RE: JVC TH-A35 compatability probs

hi tisal,

i am having exactly the same problem. i`ve had the jvc th-a35 since xmas and only just this weekend got around to getting an optical / digital in connection for my xbox after much recommendation from friends.

i bought a cheap scart & optical wire combo. this worked perfectly with movies but with games I got no sound at all... even though the display reads DOLBY DIGITAL and all 6 speakers are lit up. as you have said i can get surround sound if i de-select dolby on the dash setting.

a friend advised to get a better cable so i went out and bought the official xbox advanced scart pack AND a jvc optical wire (just to cover all angles!!). to my annoyance i still can`t get this to work. i just can`t understand why movies will play in all their audible glory but not the games.

if you, or anyone has a solution it would be most appreciated!! i`ve spent too much now for this not to work!!

cheers.
