Samsung DVD-V5000 problems after playing VCD 2.0 - please help!

My dvd player was set to region 4 and I recently applied the hack from this website (http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/full/samsung5000.asp) to make it region free, so I could play a region 2 dvd.

The hack worked perfectly (thanks), but then I played a VCD 2.0 and now I can`t play any DVDs (at least I can`t play region 4, I don`t have any dvds from other regions to test it with anymore).

The only thing I have been able to find about this was on the following page:

I have the SAMSUNG DVD/VHS Combo SV DVD 1E
DVD V5000. As I live in Egypt, it is a region 2 player. My family used to send me region 1 movies from Canada and they used to work fine. Then I played a locally recorded VCD 2.0 and my system no longer plays my DVD`s. Is there any way to hack it? I`ve looked at the list and never seem to see my model of DVD player. Please help me out. THanks
