Have you tried the Acoustic 421 hack?
Works for DVD421 & DVD451:
Open disc tray / cover
Press `Setup` on the remote
Then press `Next, Prev, Next, Prev.`
Enter region code setup:
Ver 255 = Region free
Ver 1 = Region 1
Ver 2 = Region 2
Press left (<) or right (>) key
Press Down key twice
Ver 4001 = macrovision enable
Ver 4000 = macrovision disable
Press left (<) or right (>) key

RE: hack for Tesco`s technika PDVD2005
Have you tried the Acoustic 421 hack?
It`s listed under the Bush PDVD0706 (which is the same model as the Alba DVDP720 and Technika PDVD2005) as working, tested and no problems.
If some one can try and reply. The one I bought is now on it`s way to my daughter in New Zealand so I can`t do it myself!

Urgent multiregion hack for Techika DVDP2005 portable
Hi,
I bought one of these devices and I really need the hack for it, as it`s now on it`s way to NZ as a present for my Daughter..

I`ve been hunting around for one myself, with no luck.
I`ve tried the suggestions posted here and they don`t seem to work.
Most of the reviews of the machine I`ve read say it can be made multi-region, but isn`t by default, which is no help at all.
Hopefully someone out there will come thorugh soon!
Mustek PL408 Multiregion Hack
The PL408 player is not Multiregion by default. To activate this player as Multiregion please complete following instructions.
· Turn on your player.
· Close DVD disk door without a disk inserted.
· Press the following sequence of keys on your remote control.
· Press "SET-UP".
· Press "Next" & then "Prev".
· Again press "Next" & then "Prev".
· Version 2 appears on top right hand corner of your TV screen (2 being your existing region code)
· Change version (region) by pressing < button until 255 appears (correct code for Multiregion).
· Press "SET-UP" again & scroll down to exit.
· Press " SET-UP " again.
· Insert DVD disc and play.
