RE: Sony Micro Vault 256MB- Tesco

Picked up three today from Sandhurst - no more left!

They`re OK if you want some low capacity sticks.

- but you can get slimmer 512MB sticks for £6.99 from Dabs (plus del)

Thought about zipping up to Reading to see if they had any - but decided not really worth the petrol and time.

Happy with the three I got - thanks go to the OP!

RE: Cello DVD recorder £49.99 in Co-op

The units in my local Co-op do not have DV / firewire in for DVCam input! :(

RE: empiredirect sale

Yes, and just look at those fictitious "After Sale Prices"

Treat with the respect they deserve!

RE: DVD recorder, DivX playback, progressive scan £79 (Tescos - in store only)

Bought two of these from Tesco Extra, The Meadows, Sandhurst - they have quite a few left - but I wouldn`t bother!

First one

1. refuses to open the tray nine times out of ten
2. whines like a dog when playing anything
3. Tried playing some DIVX files and the thing locked up solid - flashing "HELLO" at me - had to power off and on to get my disc out
4. refused to play any DVD-RW disk I threw at it.

Second unit exactly the same apart from a properly functioning tray that does at least open when you want it to!

Didn`t even bother to try out any recording fuctions.

Got refunds on both of them - told Tesco to stop selling crap like this!

I still have working Compacks and Cyberhome DVD players bought nearly two years ago!

The stuff coming from China can be really crap now - probably nothing wrong with the chipsets that do all the clever work - it`s the drive mechanisms that let these cheap units down - and they seem to be getting worse than ever!

RE: 1GB MP3 / Radio /Flash Memory - Creative Nano Plus - Half Price at £49.99 !!!

They were wrong, their Ts & Cs do not exclude this - only if you use Gift Vouchers to buy more Gift Vouchers ...

2. Spend £50 - £99.99 (excluding delivery charge) in a single transaction and receive a free £5.00 Argos gift voucher.
3. Spend £100 or more (excluding delivery charge) in a single transaction and receive a free £10.00 Argos gift voucher.
9. Excludes the purchase of gift vouchers using gift vouchers as a method of payment.
10. The maximum value of gift vouchers provided on purchases of any spend over £100 per transaction will be £10.
14. We reserve the right to withdraw, alter or decline this offer without prior notice.

But I guess Clause 14 means that they could do what they like - even on an individual basis eg I don`t like the look of you so bog off!

They may well change their Ts & Cs to be more specific about buying Vouchers!

BTW noticed today some prices have gone up £10 since last week eg Canon A95, Liteon 5006 - cunning blighters Argos!

They deserve little tricks like this one - if we can get away with them.

RE: 1GB MP3 / Radio /Flash Memory - Creative Nano Plus - Half Price at £49.99 !!!

£30 worth? Surely it should have been £15?

Well, you buy 3 x £50 Argos Gift Vouchers separately first, collecting one £5 voucher from the collection Point for each of the three receipts.

Got it?

Then, you go back and purchase the Nano Plus 1GB and a pack of light bulbs for £51.48 using the first £50 Gift Voucher plus a payment of £1.49 and collect another £5 voucher.

Then you purchase the Iriver 5GB and a pack of light bulbs for £101.48 using the second and third £50 Gift Vouchers and a payment of £1.48 and collect a £10 voucher.

So there you have it - a 1GB MP3 player, a 5GB MP3 player, eight Light Bulbs and £30 worth of Vouchers.

RE: 1GB MP3 / Radio /Flash Memory - Creative Nano Plus - Half Price at £49.99 !!!

Yes, thanks to the advice given in this thread ...

I pre-ordered and collected today:

One Creative Nano Plus 1GB plus a pack of 4 light bulbs for £51.48 and
One Iriver H10 5GB plus a pack of 4 light bulbs for for £101.48

AND I walked out with £30 worth of vouchers valid until 1st Aug 2006!

Not at all bad, and I really needed the light bulbs!

RE: M510A PentiumM 725 Laptop 256MB 15" 40GB Combo 54G

Estimated Stock: 1

Hardly encouraging ...

RE: Canon A85 digital camera £99 at Argos

Same here - rang Argos store in Bracknell to be told it`s not in yet. But was told price has now gone up to £149

In future if it`s not in a local store to be collected on the day - FORGET IT !!!

Still I was being a bit greedy - since I got an A75 from Boots for £79 inc delivery several weeks ago!

RE: Verbatim 25 discs 4xDVD-R £14.99

They were £12.99 a month or so ago but limited to 2 packs per customer - I got 10 packs at the time spread over a weeks buying. They were all MCC and the best DVD-R media I`ve ever had!

I do use Datasafe G04 media aswell and at less than £10 per 25 with 99p shipping at certain weekends from SVP - their value cannot be beaten.

Bur the Verbs ARE the best - I have the burn graphs to prove it! and I dont think I`ll ever see them at that price again!
