RE: DVD 5320 Yamada
Finally did contact UMAX and was advised that player only does "picture CD" and not the older Photo CD.
(I guess I should have known as the Photo CD uses *.PCD files and not JPEG.)
Also there are no firmware updates available.
They chose to ignore my request for a better manual!!
Thanks for the info

DVD LG 8060 drive help needed
Have got an LG 8060B dvd rom drive however it only seems to read DVD-R and DVD-RW. There is a "no disc message" when I put a DVD+R or DVD+RW recorded disk in to it to play a movie etc.
Is this normal, is my DVD drive too old?
Would apprecite some help,
Cheers,
Bryce
DVD 5320 Yamada
I am new to this and I think I put this question on the wrong forum. (Sorry if I did) Anyway here is my question again,
Hello folks my first post (better than the last post I suppose!) Anyway does any one have any information relating to this machine as the manual? is very scant. For instance I was messing about with JPEG and brought up a menu for Kodak CD. The front of the machine shows Kodak CD logo so thought it should be able to play same (.pcd) but this does not seem to be the case and I cannot find the menu again!! Any help would be appreciated on this one. I also wondered if any firmaware updates existed for this machine as it plays DVD-R/RW but sometimes has problems with DVD+R/RW. I think I read somewhere that it is similar to the 5120 in a slim case but really need upto date correct info.
Thanks in advance for the help of you experts out there,
Cheers,
Bryce
RE: Can I replace 4 ohm speakers with 8 ohm ones???
Yes you can. The problem is when you go the other way ie replacing 8 with 4 as they may be over driven by the output stage of your amplifier. You will get a lower "watt" output as the output stage is driving a higher impedence, but it is safe to check your 8`s as you will not do any harm
