if you ring sky and say you are thinking about cancelling as you think the £65 charge is far too much, and get put through to the right person in retentions dept they might offer to replace it for free...they did with mine...

i dont think ull go wrong with 575, judging from what i read about it. prob is with cambridge is that only richer sounds sells them, maybe if other places did they would be wider reviewed and known about

got a tosh 530, needed something decent as old player had died. and i cant live without a dvd player!! (sad!)

people seem to rate pioneer 575 as well, but for me tosh is fine. cambridge has edge tho, where build adn pic qual are concerned.

i had a 77, LOVED it but unfortunately didnt agree with JVC tv for no apparent reason! (it kept changing the screen size, no matter what i did!) as long as u dont hv JVC 28" nicam tv like me i would highly rec it. brilliant features and build

im asking for a solution on behalf of a friend, she has a phillips dvd player that has always played everything thrown at it, but tonight for no apparant reason has rejected R1 "ER Season 2"!

plays every other R1 discs...

any suggestions anyone? please? :)

Free Orange upgrade

i wanted to upgrade to the motorola V3 so rang orange only for them to tell me they would charge £99 for the phone!

i said no way im not paying that when i can get a new contract with phone for free! so i stood my ground, firmly but politely of course, and the upgrade dept called the customer services deot and straight away they said yes - seen as i said i would cancel my contract and leave orange.

just to let everyone know if you persist theres no need to pay way over the odds with these money grabbing phone companies!

DVD player screen size flicker driving me nuts!

hi everyone,

i have a cambridge audio 77 dvd player and i love it, apart from one thing - on most dvds it keeps switching the TV (JVC 28" widescreen) from panoramic to full, even when i pre select panoramic instead of auto. the dvd player is set to "wide" but also has options of ps and lb, neither of which stop the problem. >:(

it flicks constantly on the dvds it does this on, its very annoying, does anyone have any ideas what i can do? thanks. :D

if its any help......i was in richer sounds recently and the bloke recommended the toshiba 530, said its an excellent machine. i always got to RS i find them unbiased and not pushy

i bought my mum a toshiba sd340 and she loves it, best player under £100 i would say, although a little more expensive than supermakrket budget range.

i also have a w 750s and have been looking to retire it...am interester in cambridge audios range, partiularly the azur, if thats any help to you?

Which Cable for TFT monitor?

i just got a TFT monitor and connected it to Radeon 9600XT with cable provided, I`d like to connect it with a DVI cable but im not sure which one to buy, there seems a lot of different ones when i look on websites! thanks.

i`ve just ordered the iiyama 431 for £240(i think!) from savastore.co.uk, it seems to get consistently good reviews.

i have a toshiba 330 got it from unbeatable and it was multi region straight out of the box, excellent player i highly recommend.

richer sounds have a good selection of MR toshibas too.
