RE: Multimedia Laptop From Tchibo £900
what the performance difference between the Athlon 2600 and P4 3GHz?
RE: rate this bargain - desktop pc
Sorry to confuse you. I didn`t mean to say that its expensive at that spec.
It was more a statement that "for that sort of money i`d rather buy a laptop".
RE: rate this bargain - desktop pc
The processor on the expensive one is the latest 3.4GHz and i`m sure cost more than a £90 retail. Still a lot of money to pay for a desktop imho.
RE: Multimedia Laptop From Tchibo £900
Any idea which make?
RE: MINOLTA DIMAGE Z1 - I`ve Been after one for ages - Its only ?229! now from PC World
I would also consider the Olympus 750 (best reviews of all sub £350 ultra zoom cameras) and KODAK Easyshare 6490 (both are £260 pixmania).
Pricerunner is good site for links to Professional Review for Digital Cameras.
Purple fringing is a problem for all x10 zoom cameras.

Big question is though, can I use it properly over here?
If you intend to copy onto VCR then you may have problems as most VCR may not accept NTSC inputs. Like I said before I intend to burn to DVD so the fact its NTSC is not a problem. And I have DVD player which will play NTSC.
The supplied battery charger will work on 110v to 240v, so will OK here but an adapter (£3 from argos) may be required. You can use the UK miniDV media.
Are you expecting other issues ?

Looks good for the money, how does voice record work? Do you have to have a line-in cable or can you speak into a built in microphone?
Its has a built in microphone.
The iRiver website has plenty of links to reviews.

RE: JVC GRD30 Digital Camcorder for only £159
now for the drawbacks.
They all seem to have slightly diff procedures for shipping, but the jist is
They need scanned copy of C/Card and delivery address etc.
Shipping obviously is variable (package size weight etc)
They send it via ordinary postal mail. Some of these are intercepted and you are asked to pay customs (VAT only generally) and handling charges.
Warranty and come back are a big issue for some makes. The big makes usually have a worldwide 1 year guarantee. Returns are possible but could be costly in both time and money. Breakages should be covered by postal insurance which i`d always pay extra for.
but if was easy no one would buy from UK
I`m getting a Sony PC300 which I intend to burn straight to DVD so I don`t have VCR issues. (...and my DVD player plays NTSC)

Try looking here for Price Comparison of US sites with indication if they ship to UK.
buydig.com came to £124 + Shipping + Customs.
RE: 128mb MP3 player - any bargains?
After a week of research, I settled for the iRiver ifp180t. Its available from Ebuyer for £76+ postage. link
Its stightly more expensive than most of the others but I went for it because:
Integrated FM Radio Tuner and can also record from radio. (most have FM radio earphones)
Upto 20hrs use with AA battery
Sennheiser MX300 Earphones supplied
Firmware is upgradeable

RE: Nokia 7250i £129.99
I order a couple of these on Saturday. The order went thro no problem. Orange normally require a push to send the order on time, so I gave a call this morning. I was told by some spotty oik that I`ve been declined, and refused to give me a valid reason. After some persistance he tried to fob me off by saying that there was a problem with my credit card, which is not true as I`ve been using it since then (also checked with credit card company). He also told me if I tried again with same or another credit card I would be declined, so credit card cant be the reason!!!
However i wonder the true explanation is the new online price is now £159.99!!
..or could it be that I have ordered a couple of phones in October as presents and also had a couple 3510i on the CPW offer last week (it was too good to miss), and I have reached a max phone limit internally for Orange.
I have an address to complain to and I intend to. (...or will this get me nowhere)
Has anyone received this phone, or has any thoughts on what i should do
