Great Service from DDDHouse

I haven`t used DDDHouse in a little while, for no particular reason as I have always found them very good, but was very impressed with their service and price recently.

I ordered the new Studio Ghibli film Tales of Earthsea on Sunday (22nd July). Got an emial from them on Monday saying it had shipped and it arrives today - only 4 days after shipping! Great stuff and for less than £10 including P&P I am very happy. It`s not a great comparisson but my order of Ghost in The Shell: Solid State Society was shipped from DeepDiscount on 9th July and still hasn`t arrived 18 days later.

I shall certainly get my R3`s from DDDHouse in future. Top Stuff!

I used them a while ago, on recomendation from a friend, to buy a camcorder and wouldn`t use them again. Their customer service is apalling. The camcorder arrived quickly enough but I had bought one of their packages which came with tapes and a wide angle lense. The wide angle lense they sent was the wrong size and did not fit the camera so I called them to say they had sent the wrong one. The person at Pixmania just didn`t seem to understand and kept telling me that if it was faulty i had to return the whole camera. I kept trying to explain that the camera was fine it was just the extra lense that was bought as part of their package but all I got was "If the camera is faulty you must return it all". I gave up in the end and sold the lense on ebay. It was such a simple problem and they just weren`t listening. I found it very frustrating and wouldn`t waste my time using them again.

Well I sent another email asking to return the DVD that had been sent and get a refund. I got another reply today appologising for the inconvenience and saying I can order another DVD to the same value and they will send it free of charge.

It`s unfortunate that it took so much complaining and so many emails from me but at least they are willing to hold up their end of the deal. One thing I can say for Deep Discount is they are very quick to reply to emails!

Thanks for the info Kakuzato. The link to the DTI website is interesting. These laws apply to the EU though and this is an American company so I imagine they have different laws. It`s not alot of money but it`s a bit of a principle thing really.

This seems wrong to me. Anyone know if they are allowed to do this or not?

Dodgy Deals at Deep Discount

I made use of the Buy One Get One Free Offer at Deep Discount last month. I received my first DVD after a few days then yesterday I noticed that the 2nd DVD had been cancelled in my account saying it was no longer available. I emailed them asking why it had been cancelled and they replied that I shouldn`t worry as I haven`t been charged for it!

I think they might have missed the point. I ordered 2 DVD`s on a BOGOF and they have sent me one DVD at full price! This is a very dis honest trick as I would not have bought either DVD at full price. I have wrote back to them and am waiting or a reply.

It might sound like conspiracy theory but it wouldn`t supprise me if Suzies husband worked to keep her in anyway. If he was willing to buy up loads of choclate bars, pay £4000 for a golden ticket whats to stop him employing someone to repeat call to vote for someone likely to get high votes (ie Mikey) to save her.

I ordered a Topfield freeview box (highly reccomended) from them (through homecinematv.co.uk - but it`s still hughes direct) - gave me a choice of days for delivery and it arrived as arranged, 2 days later. I couldn`t fault there service.

I read that the promo will run from 15th Nov until xmas and that the sets were supposed to be BOGOF at £20. If it was £30 that would explain why Play have got them at £14.99 each.

SOPRANOS boxsets 1/2 price at Smiths

I picked up The Sopranos Series 4 from my local WHSmiths for £24.99! They seemed to have all the seasons at this price ans a load of other boxsets at half price including SIX FEET UNDER and ER.

If when you say `Action replay disc` you mean something that makes the PS2 multi region, then that is what the DVD X disc does but still with no joy. Thanks anyway.

I Can`t play Brotherhood of the Wolf on my PS2!

I have just bought the R1 3 disc edition on Brotherhood of the Wolf but none of the discs will play on my PS2. I have DVD X and have never had any problems before. You get some sound and a vague attempt at a menu but nothing else. Has anyone else experienced anything similar or have any solutions?
