RE: Philips DVDR 880
Hi,
Have a word with Philips. The DVDR880 is known to have had problems with its laser unit giving "No Disc" errors. I think Philips extended the warranty to two years because of this (don`t quote me on that though).

RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.
Hi,
I`m thinking of either getting the Compacks DRW101 or the Mico DVDR311 (well...they are cheap). Does anyone know how you make them record in "video" compatibilty mode so the discs can be played back on some DVD players that are a bit "fussy"?
Also, are the resolutions set for HQ, SP modes etc or are they manufacturer specific i.e. the DRW101 captures at a lower resolution in SP mode (352x576), is this the same for the Mico?
Thanks,
Damian
