Yamada Player Difference between 5520 and 2500

I see the 5520 is capable of 5.1 output (unamplified I guess). What other differences are there to justify the £10 difference on Amazon?

I also note the 2600 now appears to supercede the 2500. Again any idea of any differences?

I would appreciate your comments especially if you have had your hands on both models headed.

Ha! I don`t know how many times I looked at this befroe I realised the 2500 has no LCD diplay.

RE: Another cheapish DVD player(aren`t they all!)

If you are interested in the DivX version you can find plenty more customer reviews on Ebuyer

crappy £30 dvd player when you can get a decent branded one for another £30 or £40

moviemadenes you make me laugh so hard. How can you visit this site yet not know that DVD players have been a very different category from many other types of electrical product. Most of your branded models for £30 or £40 more are made on the same production line by the same people using the same components as the cheapest models.

The point you don`t see is probably they are just as happy with the quality as they sit there watching a dozen or so cheap region 1 DVD, downloaded SVCDs and photo slideshows while you sit there with your single overpriced region 2 disc.

You have to spend a lot more than £30 or £40 to get real product differentiation in this market and even then you will need to have a £1500-£2500 home cinema system at home in order to appreciate it.

DVDs are not like TVs. The extra cash often isn`t buying better technology, just the same inexpensive technology in a different box.

Buying based on quality is one thing, buying solely based on brand is for mugs.
