I`ve just found a hack on the net for the Alba 45
a)Turn on DVD player
b)Open disc tray either on the player or on the remote
c)Press 2812
d)menu should pop up-press ENTER until 9 appears
e)It`s now region free

Having said that i`ve also read that it comes out of the box region free i have yet to receive my model to try it out. Good luck
