RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

I tried something a bit different. Took a good look around, then came to this site
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/jeroenverhaar/en/indexdvd.htm

The code is the same, but I entered it by using my all in one remote. Also, after pressing play, I didnt power off - I put in the region 1 disc (more by accident than design).

But, it worked !! :) :) :) :) :)

Not sure if it was the way I entered it, not turning it off, or just because it`s friday. Anyway, it worked....

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

Damn ! Just got a Region 1 DVD. Put it in and get a "Wrong Region" message.

I assume there is a problem with the code...

Can anyone help?

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

Hi,
To be honest, I just followed the instructions on the Philips download page.

Unzip the files into a new directory.
Start up your CD Writing program (I used Nero).
Set up to ISO 2, Mode 2/XA, character set ISO9660.
Remember to select single session, or close / finalise the disc after use.

then burn it...

hope that helps

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

thanks - this worked. Or at least, the dashes came up and i entered the code. Now all I need is a region 1 dvd to try it with :)

RE: Philips dvdr70 codes.

Hi, I just downloaded the firmware, which was easy enough. Now I am trying to follow the instructions to put in the code. (no disc in machine)

I change the remote to `DVD player`.
I press OK - so far so good...

If I enter the code (with the menu bar still on screen) - 159 - nothing happens.
If I press `menu` button to get rid of the menu bar, when I press 159 it just changes to channel 15 then channel 9.

What is the correct point to enter the code?

thanks

Philips DVDR-70 MP3 problems

My Philips DVDR-70 seems to work with every format of disc and recording - except MP3.

When I put in a disc (CD-R) it comes up with the tag id for the track, but just skips past it. Sometimes a tenth of a second will play and occassionally (maybe three tracks on the disc) will play fully.

I called Philips and they said that the files needed to be renamed as 001.mp3, 002.mp3 etc. I tried this and still nothing.

Can anyone help?
