i found the technika 300 hack by trying every hack for players from the same manufactuer or sister companies or players that use hacks from other manufactuers if this doesent work or you get fed up as it took me 8 hours, i would call Matsui on the helpline in the manual and tell them that your your region 2 discs wont play, as the machine tells you wrong region. You never know they may tell you the hack(or replace it for a shiny one <ggg>

ive tried VCD and they played fine and SVCD is on the machines display so id assume it plays these ok aswell "wow what fun im having for sixty quid"

ok after sitting up all night trying every hack i could find turn on player open tray then press setup on remote move to custom settings and press 3333 then a hidden menu will appear select free for multi
