RE: Looking for a region patch for the Philips 729 DVD player (black)

Region Free, (confirmed)

(No cd should be in the tray)
turn on
open tray
remote: 9, 9, 9, 9, 0 ("Region 0" should now appear in the upper left corner in blue/white colour)
close tray
turn off

Many thanks to Gerard.

Didn`t work, unfortunately. When I turn the player on again and place a disc in the tray I get the "Wrong region" text in the upper left corner of the screen.

I really appriciate your help though!

Looking for a region patch for the Philips 729 DVD player (black)

I tried the following code (mentioned here on the site), but to no avail:

For philips: DVD-707, 729, 751
1. Using the Philips remote control, press power and open the tray of the player.
2. Key in the following: 8, 4, 2, 1.
3. ---- should appear in the top left porion of the screen.
4. Press Select on the remote control and continue to press until the desired region is selected or 9 is displayed for region free.
5. Press Close.
Note - these are Australian models.

My remote doesn`t seem to have a "Select" button, neither does it have a "Magic" button.

I did a search on the forums here, but nobody seems to have the same problem. Maybe my player is too new a model?

Please help me, as I got a load of DVD`s from different regions.

Many thanks in advance
