RE: Identity

I was initially a bit let down when we found out who all the people in the motel were - it was bit like "and I woke up and it was all a dream" - but then as the rest of the film played out, along with the final, final twist, I think it worked great.

A lot of people have said Quote:
leave before the end
but then all you`d be left with is a (admittedly above average) slasher movie.

I thought the twists certainly added to the movie rather than took anything away.

Amusingly, the plot seemed a bit much for the five teenage girls sitting in front of me at the cinema who, after the credits rolled, looked totally bewildered and resorted to having me give them a 5 minute explanation of exactly what had just happened....

RE: Which broadband Service would you recommend...

Pipex are great until you get a problem. I had two - one just trying to get a modem delivered and the other more recently when my ADSL line was seized by BT because there was a change of name on the line.

Won`t go into details but in the end I was happy enough to pay 58 quid to cancel my contract with Pipex. Have now signed up with Zen - who are doing free acitvation and min 1 month contracts.

RE: Panasonic RV41 - stopped working - any ideas?

No luck with that I`m afraid. [Edit - I meant the shaking; I haven`t tried to call Panasonic yet]

But I did get an "H02" error message which when searched for on Google got me a few answers.

Looks like it`s a problem with a lot of Panasonic players. There`s a lawsuit - http://www.dvdsettlement.com/ - regarding the older models but the newer ones seem to be affected just the same. Here are some reviews of the RV31 -
http://www.audioreview.com/DVD,Players/Panasonic,DVD,RV31K,/PRD_127430_1587crx.aspx

I only had to search Google Groups for "Panasonic H02" - http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&safe=off&q=Panasonic+H02&sa=N&tab=wg - to find that I`m certainly not alone....

Panasonic RV41 - stopped working - any ideas?

First signs it was going wrong were movies skipping now and again (and I could hear a clicking sound). Then today it won`t even read the disc.

I insert any DVD and it starts to read it (again with the clicking) but never makes it through this stage.

I`ve only had it for a year and 3 months (the warranty was only for 12 months) so any suggestions welcome.

RE: Am I the only one who.........

You might be. The mystery title tends to draw me in, rather than the usual "Asylum seeker this...", "George Bush that..." thread.

Anyway no. I normally watch all of the Sopranos on repeat viewing. But that`s just me.
