Yup i agree with Occean, if your budget is low, just wait abit, the amp is the centre piece of your setup, i have the pioneer 2011vsx, which is a godsend with the auto speaker setup, because like probably most of us, when your watching a film you spend most of ya time saying that dont sound right and pausing to increase the vol on 1 output etc hehe.
now i just pop a mike in the room and dissapear for 10 mins and there perfect.
i picked it up from unbeatable.co.uk for 680 but i dont think they do em anymore, think i got a bargin :)
REL 150E settings
Got a Rel 150e and i just need to know what is everyone else using as the correct settings on the back. I know everyone has diff tastes and room sizes but i was wanting to know what the majority of you have it setup as. my questions are
Do you use the 12db LFE or 0dbLFE and then do you have it set on NUMBER 1 or NUMBER 2
basically do i need to use the 0dbLFE turn up the BASS and use settings 2 ? some people say 1 but im reading 2 is the setting that doesnt sample and is in the purest of sounds, if i can get the initial correct selector positions io can then fiddle with volume etc.

REL 150E setup
OK ive setup this sub with 1 LFE cable for the low frequency stuff and 1 highlevel cable wired as per instructions in RELS manual IE left and right speakers, the thing ive noticed is the mission fs2 speakers all seem fine apart from the front 1 the dialouge sounds tinni, as thought the sub isnt working for that speaker, i have a pioneer vsx 2011 and have let that auto setup as per its program, can ne1 point me where im going wrong.
At the moment i have the High freq setting on the sub at minimum will this effect it if i up that abit ?
When it was connected via the mission sub all was well
weird weird weird, but ive gotta say when the bass kicks in its unbelivable from such a little box.

If you can afford the SEP amp and speakers then go for that option, i currently run a PIONEER VSX 2011 mission FS2 speakers ( reason because wife doesnt want massive boxes around room not yet anyway hehe ) rel 150e sub that does sound the dogs but its alot of money, before that i had the Videologic DTS speaker setup 299 quid, got 10/10 in DVD review and to be honest its still better than some of my m8s speakers n amp setups.
how much you got to spend ?

Ive got a SCAN 2000, Cyberhome 5xx and a pioneer 757ai
and my honest truth is for cheapness get the scan. the 2000 was better because u could lead any vcd svcd in IE with the cyberhome if it dont like the disc it would say bad disc and thats as far as you could get, with the scan it scanned the frames and then you choose the correct frame IE the start of the film and 9/10 it played them.
Obviously the 757 i have eats anything silver and round, but at 600 a pop not cheap.
So if i had scan or cyberhome i go scan, ive had mine 3 years now and it plays everything the 757 does, the cyberhome has failed a few.

1 pioneer vxs 2011
1 pioneer 757ai
mission FS2 in 7.1 setup
OK the system sounds fine, but i feel im missing bass, ive been to peoples house and watched movies and the bass has been fantastic ie DEEP feel it in ya chest, so ive decided to retire the mission FS2 sub and concentrate on a new option. I was going to get a REL quake but have been told it may not be enough for my setup, my Room is fairly big 15x12 approx maybe bigger, a large front room. Can anyone advise me, The guys in the shops say get a rel 200e or any ST range, my budget isnt limitless and id like a sub 500 pound 1 but i will go to 800 at a push, I have a friend who has a paradigm ps1000 and he said get that, ive seen the tannoy rev 3 for 450 and thats massive. Can ne1 help me with my needs. Is REL the way to go or do i look at other makes? if so what, i need that earth moving thud in my chest when films kick off.
