Thomson DPL 915VD - R1 dvds black & white :(

hi guys hopefully you will be able to help me here im going nuts over this not being able to play my fantastic Band Of Brothers region 1 DVD box set in colour!!

i used the remote region hack for the Thomson 915VD player, the problem is that the region 1 dvds are showing in black and white :(. The thing is im not sure if its my TV that cant take the NTSC signals cos i have had a Bush 2023 player playing region 1 dvds on it in colour fine before. So i cant understand why the Thomson 915 is refusing to play the Region 1 discs in colour... I`ve read that some players have onboard converters to change the signals? is this the case with the Bush 2023 player and not the Thomson 915 player?

There is no setup screen on the actual TV to change the signal between pal & NTSC.. and i cant find anywhere on the Thomson dvd player where i can change the signal either (ive also looked on the back for a switch) :(? The dvd player is connected into the tvs only scart socket, I cant try an S-video cable cos the TV doesn`t have that connection..

The TV is pretty old and we are planning on getting a new one soon, will this allow me to play my Region 1 dvds in colour? Or is this a problem with the dvd player:(?

any suggestions welcome thanks

Rick
