Help - how to backup my dvds....

I have just bought a mirror dvd -R recorder with VOB software.

How do I make backup copys of my discs? (backups so my youngster doesn`t trash the originals !)

I just want the video not the menus.

Mirror DVD recorder for the PC

Does anyone have any experience of this manufacturer?
It is a recorder for DVD _R and RAM and is available for a ltd time at PC world.
