New DVD Player Amp goes pop
I have just bought a toshiba sd220 multi region from amazon, lots of good reviews etc. This replaced my good old faithful Pioneer DV717 now my parents. Anyone remember these?
Anyway I plug it into my amp Onkyo DS575 (about 4 yours old), Put in first region 1 dvd plays fine impressed with the sound quality and picture.
Put in the second DVD loads up ok then goto scence select and the sound goes! The amp is not registing a input ie it shows prologic instead of switching to digital. I play the film nothing I turn up the volume on the tv the film has sound through tv (scart lead).
I try another DVD, the same problem. I check all my settings they are all ok. I try my PS2 that is connected no sound comes out through the amp. I select tuner on the amp and nothing comes out. Then all of a sudden it starts to work (while I am bashing the buttons). Since then it sometimes works sometimes does not, it seems to work less all the time.
The dvd seems to play a film ok but the problem arises when you go through the menus and the audio signal keeps changing or when you switch the amp on it doesn`t work.
Has anyboady had problems like this?
What may have caused it (not my new DVD player!!!!)?
I guess I am going to have to get a new amp. Hope someone can help as am a bit paroniod that my new DVD caused the problem. But I guess it was just from moving the amp and stand slightly to acomadate the new DVD player.
Please shed some light
By the way I am considering the Yamaha RX-V630RDS or Marantz SR5300 as a replacement any comments.
Cheers.

RE: Is there a multiregion hack for Playstation 2?
I have just ordered the Blaze region free disc at the great price of £8.99 But does it enable you to play RCE encoded discs as I cant find anywhere that says it does or does not! Or do I need to by region X disc that plays RCE, doesn`t it?
Any help cheers.
