RE: MiCO Sofia 02a HACKED - multiregion and (S)VCD playback

First - apologies to everyone but tripod took the site down so had to get a new host - fortunecity - who wont allow zip files so had to rename as .doc so you could download. You then rename these in Windows Explorer and extract the files with WinRAR. Messy but the only way around it. However, tripod is back up so the direct link to the files are:
http://asterix69.tripod.com/MiCO_Diamante_3000.zip
http://asterix69.tripod.com/MiCO_Sofia_02a.zip

Sorry for the trouble but was only trying to help as I bought my MiCO at the weekend and I was frustrated not being able to download upgrade from anywhere and having to wait so I wanted to help out. Thanks for your patience but the links (I promise) work and are in .zip format. Thanks to Merv who got the links working through renaming.

Regards and free access to all - Vicar.

RE: MiCO Sofia 02a HACKED - multiregion and (S)VCD playback

It does exist - are you blocking something in your browser/firewall settings?

RE: Re Mico sofia 02a

download it from here. instructions with download.

RE: MiCO Sofia 02a HACKED - multiregion and (S)VCD playback

go here: http://members.fortunecity.com/asterix69/mico.htm
and download the upgrade. you need to have a cd rewriter. full instructions are included with the download, but basically you unrar the files, and copy the two files onto a blank cd-r/cd-rw and put the disc into the player. wait a couple of minutes and the cd will come out. press and hold down the on/off button for a few seconds and the player goes off. wait a few more seconds and turn it back on. upgrade complete. ps - you`ll need winrar to extract the files. type `winrar` into your favourite search engine.

MiCO Diamante 3000 and Sofia 02a S/VCD Upgrade/Info available here

http://members.fortunecity.com/asterix69/mico.htm

also gives multi-region hack, although both should be multi-region straight from the box.

RE: pacific 1002 (£70 3yr warranty) OR mico sofia 02a (£90 1 yr warranty)

The MiCO. It plays anything and has excellent back-up from Pulse Service, and far more reliable. The pacific - anything goes wrong take back to asda for money back because they cannot deal with it. (Asda should stick to selling food because when it comes to electricals they don`t know what they are doing. Don`t get me wrong, you`ll get your money back - but that isn`t always the point. The 3yr guarantee isnt a breeze either.) You pays yer money....
Trust the Vicar, I originally bought the Schneider 857 from Asda - the whole batch have faulty S-Video outputs and Asda didnt even know what an S-Video output was. I rest my case, your witness. Next I bought the Cyberhome ADL528 from RicherSounds - crap & jerky VCD picture quality even after upgrade, so that went back. Third time lucky got the MiCO - best buy! See my thread for upgrade for this player.

MiCO Sofia 02a HACKED - multiregion and (S)VCD playback

Open the tray and press 2812 on remote to access hidden menu, but should be multiregion from box.
Go here http://asterix69.tripod.com/MiCO.zip (342Kb) for download to burn to CD-R so you can view S/VCD`s. You can now play pretty much anything on this bargain high spec machine.
