RE: Dual dvd858 hack needed urgently

Hi to convert the Dual DVD858 to multi-region use the Schneider DVD-1003 hack below it works!

How to convert your Schneider DVD-1003Dual DVD858 player into a multi-region compatible machine

To convert this player to Multi-Region -

1. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control.

2. Press the Clear button on your remote control.

3. Using your remote control, press the buttons 1, 3, 6 and 9, in order, one at a time.

4. Press the 1 button on your remote control to select region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback.

Enjoy....

Technika DVD 1020 Problem

Hi folks

Just bought a Technika DVD 1020 player from Tesco. I bought the player for the bedroom, so as far as cheap and cheerful players go it`s excellent value for money -

Plays both DVD-R DVD-RW without any problems also CDs etc and mp3
Picture sharpness control
Bass and treble adjustment
Contrast, Brightness and Luma adjustment

All in all a fairly flexible budget player for under £70 quid.

So what is the problem? Simple but yet puzzling - the DVD palyer`s front panel `Menu navigation` button will allow up and down, and left to right movment but you CANNOT `select` anything in a DVD menu (I tried pressing the middle of the button but nothing happens). I have tried several discs but you cannot play a film unless you use the remote. So what is the point on having a menu navigation button on the player`s front panel in the first place! I went to Tesco this evening and tried another player and it was exactly the same so I presume it`s not a fault. Perhaps I`m a bit thick and missing something here?

Cheers
