philips dvd 880 recorder

i recently tried to add a title to a home movie disc and got an error reading and now i cant access the disc at all - unreadable data-
does anyone know how i can regain access to the footage on the disc?

ive had the same problem as amf666
i can copy some dvds to tape then back to dvd but not all of them.
im interested in the box to strip out the cgms.
where do you get them?
