RE: sony dvp-ns300 hack

Dear Ken,
The information that I have comes from this website. I used the hack with a mate looking on (he`s a whizz with hi-tech stuff) and even he can`t get the hack to work. The problem is that the remote does not have numbers on it and apparantly an engineers remote is required at a (rental) cost of about £40. The only alternative is to have it chipprd at a reputable independent dealer, but br careful as this will invalidate your warranty (if under a year old) and could cost £80 or more to fit. I hope that this will help.
Regards.

sony dvp-ns300 hack

I have tried the remote hack for the ns300 but all I get is several blue screens with lots of techie info. I have found the region coding screen, but as my remote does not have any numbers and as I can`t move the cursor up, down or sideways, are there any more ways I can hack inti it to change the region code?

Sony DVP-NS300

I have tried the hack with the remote-dvd in standby, press "title", press "clear", press "power"-which takes me to several blue screens with lots of technical information. As the remote does not have any numbers and I find it impossible to move the cursor up, down or sideways and as I have found the page with the region coding, are there any other ways that I can change the region code via the remote control? I am not keen on chipping the dvd as it is still under warranty.
