Many thanks all sorted - changed DVD Player setting to PAL, also had to change setting on TV (as it is a little old!). All in all I now have a multi-region fully functional DVD player for £85! Not bad, eh!

I have just purchased a 2024 and although it plays R1 they only seem to be in B&W. Any ideas?????
