Try the Samsung new models. The DVD611, 711 and 811 all have twin lasers and can play MP3 as well as CD-R.

you can modify this machine (as well as the 511, 711 and 811). The hack is the same as the DVD709, however I don`t know of any way to LOCk the mod. IE everytime you turn the unit off the hack is gone!
