RE: What firmware version am I using?

if you have just brought your philips DVDR 880 it is probably using the ff11h. to find out go to the system menu go down to the remote symbol then go to the right then click down and read the fourth line down and it should tell you in that line.

One 4 All Hack

Is there a code out there for the philips DVDR 880 that will let me play RCE discs and any other region disc without having to re enter other codes.

Philips DVD+R 880 VCD Problems

I have tried to change some of my movies from divX to vcd.

Format 352x288 and the sound to 44100Khz so pretty much standard format. I use nero to burn them on to CD and i use Tmpgnec to make them.

They play ok on my pioneer Dv 350 but they will not play on my philips dvdr. has anyone else had this problem, and what did you do to solve the problem.

RE: FAO John sweeny - Recording from PC To DVDr880

Sorry for replying so late.

All I done was to connect the TV output from my graphics card to in input on the DVDR and include the sound. so all these will conecct to the front of your DVD player. make so that you can see the output from your pc on the DVD player. So you may have to press the monitor button on your philips remote. Also make sure your pc is set to TV mode and is not still displaying Via yyour monitor. unless you have dual tv out. Run your DivX on your pc and press record on your Philips recorder.

RE: dvd+rw hack help

If you are trying to make it multi region you will need a 6 in 1 or 4 in 1 remote. it always shows only 9 dashes i have hacked mine recently with success. trust me it does work. get your self the remotes you cannot do it with out them.

RE: Can a home DVD player be connected to a PC ?

what do you wanna do with it. If you have a TV input on your graphics card then yes you can.

As i have done it with a VCR and My DVD recorder. I have tranferred movies from vcr to pc and PC to DVD.

RE: problem with dvdr880 help please!

You may need to set your tv to NTSC play back And check to see if your dvd player needs to be set to ntsc. I have recently hacked my Philips Dvd player to play region 1 and i have a sony 25" screen and i have my dvd player is connected through phone jacks as my scart plugs are all being used up by my games consoles and videos but i have no problem.

S ocheck the play back capabilitiesof the dvd player to see if it needs to be changed.
