RE: Panosonic Dmr E30 DISC PROBLEMS

not had a problem as yet with the "ice" dvd-r at around 64p per disc from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk
my vcd`s on datasafe premium cd-r all read fine also in this machine

RE: Macrovision Decoders and the Panasonic DMR-E30

Cheers heaps for that mate. Nice price too.
I sort of came to the conclusion earlier that it WAS my decoder after all being crap, because when i copy a macro vhs onto another vhs, THEN run it into the dvd-r thru the macro decoder again it seems to work. Obviously tho its not something im gonna do cos thats just crap. But it has led me to believe its as the guy in an earlier post stated its not stabilising the pulses to an acceptable level for the dvd-r.

RE: Macrovision Decoders and the Panasonic DMR-E30

Cheers for that bit of advice
however...
when i looked it up i repeatedly got information saying it was a digital form of copy protection, which still doesnt explain why its picking up the signals from an analogue vcr and vhs tapes, unless perhaps this CGMS thing is triggered in the recorder when it detects macrovision pulses (even when stabilised by a decoder) ?

Its driving me mad trying to find a place to buy the lead do u have a link by any chance?

Macrovision Decoders and the Panasonic DMR-E30

Just wondering if anyone has successfully used a decoder/editor on this machine. I bought one today and am having problems, namely it either refuses to record with the "this cannot be copied" error or it shuts off after a few minutes.

Im thinking it may be that my decoder is crap because vhs transfers in the past were also poor, but then again maybe not thats why before i invest in a better model decoder id be interested to know if anyone has had it work.

Since i bought this machine instead of a regular burner precisely to backup my extensive vhs originals collection then im pretty bummed out its not working.

Thanks in advance for any help.
