I bought the LG DA-3525 set on Saturday here in Luxembourg, so I haven`t actually tried it myself - but the shop provided me with the following instructions - in French(!):

1. Turn on the DVD
2. Wait for the display to show "no disc"
3. Press the pause button on the remote control
4. Enter the code 314159
5. Enter code "0"
6. Press the pause button

Put the DVD on standby
