Macrovision for DVD3E

Anybody know if there`s a hack to turn the Macrovision off on the DVD3E?

RE: Samsung SV-DVD3E

Cold Start = Switch off plug, Switch back on.

If you use the hack I posted you don`t need to wait for the "No Disc" to disappear. You hold PLAY and FF and let go when "No Disc" DOES appear.

RE: Samsung SV-DVD3E

Cracked it! Got this hack off VCDHelp.com and it works a treat! Based on the DVD Reviewer Hack but with a few "Amendments"...

Always perform a COLD START before applying the hack below. This is an essential step.

1. Power on your player as normal.
2. Press and hold both the Play and Forward buttons on the player.
3. After a short while the words "No Disc" should appear from the onscreen display. Release the Play and Forward buttons on the player.
4. First press the "Subtitle", then press the "Repeat" button on your remote control.
5. Using your remote control enter the code below, note that you must know what Region your player is currently set to in order to know which code is appropriate:

- Region 1 use [ 2, 9, 3, 3, 4 ]
- Region 2 use [ 3, 8, 7, 6, 7 ]
- Region 3 use [ 5, 6, 7, 3, 2 ]
- Region 4 use [ 7, 6, 8, 8, 4 ]
- Region 5 use [ 5, 3, 8, 1, 4 ]
- Region 6 use [ 2, 4, 4, 6, 2 ]

6. A code should be displayed at the upper left of the screen showing the current Region setting of your unit.
7. Press the "9" button on your remote control for Region free, or "1" for Region 1. Press "2" for Region 2, and so on.
8. Press the Open button on your player.
9. Press the Standby button on your remote control.
10. Press Standby again, to turn on and away you go!!

RE: Samsung SV-DVD3E

No, haven`t seen OK on the screen. I get the blue "Samsung Digital" screen and NO DISC appears top right, but other than that nothing...

RE: Samsung SV-DVD3E

Hey Scumbag, I still can`t do it. Tried it at the weekend, still no joy. I`ve hacked the DVD1E before and a couple of other Samsungs but this elusive DVD3E just won`t crack!

I unplug the machine, plug it in, press the Standby button, hold FF and Play\Pause I don`t get a "Select language Screen".

If I hold the Play\Pause and Stop buttons (the hack listed) the NO DISC never disappears.

I am at my wits end!!! Could it be that I`ve got a model with a different firmware? I`ll check the version (holding FF and REW does work!) and update a thread...

RE: Samsung SV-DVD3E

Cheers Scumbag, I`ll give it a try!

Together we`ll crack this region travesty!

RE: Samsung SV-DVD3E

Thks, grateful for the reply, but when do I get the "SELECT A LANGUAGE" screen?

If I hold FF and REW I get the reset screen which shows the firmware version, not the language screen. Is that the DVD1E hack?

RE: Hacks for Sony DAVs 550

"IMPORTANT: You CAN remote hack your PHILIPS player without paying the rip off fees demanded by chipping companies, click here for more info! Also Sonys, Panasonics, most JVCs, Toshibas cannot be hacked via the remote. A chipping company (and therefore payment of a fee) is necessary."

The paragraph above is listed on the main forum page my friend...

Your best bet is to buy one off the web that has already been chipped. Do a google search there are probably hundreds of places to get them from...

Samsung SV-DVD3E

I know none of the hacks on this site are guaranteed to work and all the rest of it..but I have just bought a DVD3E after downloading the hack posted on this site. However I can`t get it to work can anyone offer another hack or some extra advice?

Basically, I don`t get past the first bit. I unplug my player, plug it in, turn it on (Standby on the machine) hold the Play and Stop buttons but I can hold them all night and the "No Disc" message never disappears!!

The reset works OK though (i.e. holding FF and RW for 3 secs...).

Don`t think it`s something I could be doing wrong, I have hacked a number of players using this site before (including Samsungs) can anyopne help me this time?
