Hope you get the model manufactured before Jan 2000 or you will have problem in hacking it to multi-region. Anyway, there are a lot of region 1 discs available here in UK. I have the same model bought in the US and I am very satisfied with its performance, esp. the karaoke features which made me decide to buy it. I hope we exchange notes whoever discover first the correct hack for this player. If you need my email address I could give it to you. I am still searching for hacking solutions. Where are you going to buy, in the US. If they have the same features, try to find out first how to hack either of them. I bought APEX AD-600A in the US and up until now I am still searching for a solution to hack it to be multi region. As of now I could only play region one (NTSC) discs.If your aim is to play only region one karaoke and movie discs, then go for the APEX. The sound and vision is good. At a cheap price of $179, it is worth it.It has composite, component and co-axial out.

It was manufactured in January 2000. I tried the hack you mentioned but it didnt work. Maybe its the latest model you are referring to, so please anyone can help me. I am not good at tinkering with the inside of the player so the chips won`t be of any help. Can anybody suggest another hack from the remote? I really love this dvd player, the sound is great when connected to my digital DTS AV receiver so I disconnected all my CD player and just use this DVD. Will appreciate any help.

Don`t go farther. ARISTON DVD2000 is available at Richer Sounds for £139. Multi-region and plays very well the known problematic MATRIX dvd disc. It has both Scart and optical digital out. I didnt have any problem with it . Its fantastic.It has a seperate hacking instructions on its manual printed on one A4 sheet b/c the hacking instructions on the manual is wrong. Make sure you check for that seperate instruction sheet when you purchase one.
APEX AD-600A DVD KARAOKE (Region 1)
Does anybody know the hack codes for this DVD. It was bought from the US and plays only region 1 but the specifications says Signal system is MULTI / NTSC / PAL.. Please help.
