RE: speaker humm ?
thanks dnick, I think this might take tie to figure out :/
speaker humm ?
Hi there,
I`ve recently bought a receiver (Marantz SR5300), CD player (NAD) and speakers (Monitor Audio B2`s) which I have setup under my TV and with my year old DVD player ...
Playing my CD`s I have no probelm, sound is superb, but when I play DVDs through my Sanyo DV-7201 I get a faint humm from my main speakers ... no humm occurs in my center or SL & SR speakers. Would anyone have an idea as to what might be causing this ?
I don`t have a woofer and the receiver is configured so, the faint humm occurs only when I play DVD`s :( not my CDs :) ? the humm is consistent and does not vary with volume
thanks in advance
D.
RE: AV Processor V`s AV Receiver
Thanks for the response guys ...
I`m now a more enlighted shopper ...
cheers
RE: AV Processor V`s AV Receiver
Thanks for that ... that makes sense ...
On the woofer question, a number of manufactures suggest a woofer and an amp together, I can\could not understand why ? My feelings were if your Amp & speakers were good enough you shouldn`t need a woofer ...
or the question should be re-phrased as :
What does a woofer give you that a good Amp and Speakers can`t ?
thanks again for the response
AV Processor V`s AV Receiver
Hi,
forgive me if these question sound silly to the experienced but ...
I`m currently looking at purchasing home cinema equipment ... I`m looking to connect my TV, DVD, VCR and CD to an amplifier of some form, trying to get inof on hardware at the moment.
I`m currently very new to the hardware and what one should expect an amp to do, but can anyone tell me the difference between an AV processor and an AV reciever ? if any ? and the advantages of one over the other in relation to a home cinema setup ?
Also if I have a good amp, why should I need a subwoofer ?
Thanks
SANYO DV7201 Hack anyone try it ?
Hi,
Has anyone given the Sanyo-DV7201 hack a try yet ?
http://www.marsh1975.freeserve.co.uk/
I recently got one of these machines, I`d like to know if the hack worked ? i.e any problems with any disks, matrix, disney ? and how about Macrovision, does it disable this also ? If not is there a way of getting around this ..
thanks
