Broken PS2 :(

I broke my ps2 modding it so i could play Winning Eleven 6 on import. I got the warranty sticker back on and it looks as new (altho i had to use black marker on it). Has anyone sent a ps2 back to sony?

<rant>It fecking anoys me that i risk wasting £200 on a ps2 just so I can play a game only available in japan</rant>

At least MS/XBox got that right...
