RE: Bargain cdwiter!

Saw one in my dabs (http://www,dabs,com) catalogue, I think it is an 8x writer, but it is selling for 33 quid inc VAT.

Would buy it, but am holding off for an external USB version later in the year.

RE: What are the best ten movies to exploit my 5.1 system????

Got a new one last night

Being John Malcovich where Cameron Diaz is inside his head for the first time and he is eating breakfast, purely f**king insanely surreal.

RE: HIT ANIMAL WITH CAR

Wasnt Shadwell Town the fictional football team in ID (with Ray Winstone etc) where the undercover cop turns football hooligan.

My personal top 4 in no particular order

1) Pod Race in Phantom Menace (R4)
2) The race sequences in Driven (esc. the in car scenes) (R2)
3) T2 - most action scenes (R1)
4) Akira - a personal choice, nice use of sound (R1)

RE: Driven Underated film

I got this out last night on the recommendation of this group, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.

OK, you have to ignore the `Wendsleydale Valley` full of cheesey bits, but the audio and video transfer is one of the best I have seen and heard. The actual action scenes are good. The best scene in the film is after the party in chicago where the new cars are being displayed. If you have seen the film you will know what I mean.

Also I have to say the usage of CGI is justified in the race sequences, just listen the the surround when you are in an incar shot looking forward, with the engine going behind you.

On the downside the actor who plays Brubecker (I think thats his name), Bys main rival is so wooden he should take up the job as a fence.

It is a real no brainer to watch when you cant be bothered to think and sly is not totally awful in this film.

RE: Feroce (French Film) on DVD

The page I read this on was translated into english from french using google, so the translation engine could be to blame for this. Next time (mental note to self) check a page written in english as well as french.

OK, has anybody seen this film advertised at their local specialist cinema (and no I don`t mean one of those, I mean a non chain cinema), doesnt matter where in the country, I need a weekend break somewhere anyway soon and this is a good excuse as any.

RE: Foreign film recomendations wanted

Also try Taxi and Taxi 2, both excellent films.

Good acting, funny, and car scenes that put hollywood to shame.

Feroce (French Film) on DVD

I am looking for this film on DVD. It wsa made in 2000 and stars Sami Naceri (of Taxi and Taxi 2).

I have tried the obvious sites (Amazon.fr etc), but it is not coming up, anybody got any ideas on where I can get this.
