To change the current region setting on this player
1. Press and hold the Stop, Skip and Open buttons on the front panel of your player for a few seconds
2. Release the Stop, Skip and Open buttons on the front panel of your player
3. You should now be in a hidden menu where you can select 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on

LG4710 CDR\RW help

Hi, I hope someone might have an answer to this question.
I have found that I can use CDRWs in my player, I have tried MP3 and VCDs and they all work, using Nero to create them, but the player wont accept CDRs, which is a bit of a shame as I want to make loads of MP3 discs to play on it, or perhaps someone has found that only certain brands of CDRs will play on this machine.

I have found that the Multi Region hack that is listed here does work, thanks to all who have posted that, and also the VCD hack works as well.
If anyone can answer my question, I would love to hear from you,
Regards,
Sally-Ann

RE: LG 4710 playing VCD`s

I have done my 4710 and it works perfectlly.
Use the VCD hack that covers all the LG players, and that will work for you.
As for playing CDR\RW I found that it will in fact play CDRWs but not CDRs, but it can take a while for the player to recognise and accept the disc, sometimes you will get the message "Disc Error", and it spits the disc out, so you have to keep putting it in and trying, and eventually it will accept the disc and play it.
The same goes for playing MP3 discs, it will accept RWs but not CDRs,
I hope this is of use to you, as it is from a 4710 owner and user, who has done the hacks, (the multiregion hack also works fine).
You might find though, as a point of interest, that to play R1 discs, you need to set the switch on the back to PAL, and go into the setup menu and switch the PSEUDOPAL to OFF otherwise you get a black and white picture that rolls around like Titanic did as it was sinking :)

CDR\RW & MP3 on an LGDVD4710

Help!!!!!!!
I have done the suggested R1 hack on my player and it works brilliant, also it now plays VCDs perfectlly, but I would like to be able to make and play MP3 discs on this, I have got Nero burning software on my PC, and have tried 4 or 5 brands of CDR discs, but it just comes up and says "DISC ERROR" then spits the disc out. Is there any brand of disc that will work with my player ? or am I going to have to live with the fact that it wont accept CDR\RWs ?
I have only owned a DVD player for about 3 weeks now, so I am new to all this, and any help would be Really appreciated indeed :)
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS
Love and wishes, Miss Sally-Ann Dixon

RE: Vcd hack for LG4210?

I have done the hack as suggested, and Yes, it works, I can now play VCDs on my player in perfect quality.
I have also done the Multiregion hack, and I can confirm that it works perfectly, I managed to get hold of a R1 film, and it plays fine.
A point of interest is, you need to set the switch on the back to PAL and go into the menu settings and turn PSUEDOPAL PFF otherwise the picture will only be black and white, and may, like mine did, scroll all over the screen.
I am trying to find out if there is a way to play CDG Karaoke discs or this machine or not, so if anyone knows how to do it, I would appreciater any help.
Thanks,
Sally-Ann
