Sony DVP NS300 region hack??

Hi

I recieved this hack for the machine - put it in standby, press title, then press clear and put the power back on.

When I do this a grey screen appears. Although there is a lot of technical deatils I can`t see any mention of regions.

Is this hack completely wrong, or is there something I am not doing once the grey screen appears.

Any help would be much appreciated.
