RE: Dansai 852 Seen at any Tesco stores recently????
Available at Tesco Extra in Bar Hill near Cambridge last week.
I bought one to try but took it back as faulty when it started locking up and displaying garbage on power-up.
RE: Scan SC-2500 audio level and RGB centering problems?
I`ve looked in the engineering menu for my Panasonic, but no joy.
There`s an `H-pos` adjustment, but strangely that has no effect on the RGB input at all! The TV picture, OSD and composite inputs all move but the RGB input stays firmly put.
I`m beginning to believe this is a common problem with RGB, but can anyone explain the technical reason for it? And if it is so common why don`t DVD players have an option to alter the RGB horizontal position themselves, as I believe some Playstation games do?
Thanks,
John
RE: Scan SC-2500 audio level and RGB centering problems?
As promised, I`ve tested the TV`s RGB input with a different device.
My Panasonic VCR connected to the same SCART as the SC-2500 has a perfectly centred RGB picture.
So this seems like a fault in the SC-2500 to me.
RE: Scan SC-2500 audio level and RGB centering problems?
Hi,
I`ll check when I`m at home tonight, but I don`t think my VCR or games consoles are off-centre using RGB on the same TV.
Regarding the audio levels, the problem is that for normal listening I have to set the TV volume much higher for DVD than for VCR or TV viewing. Consequently when I switch off the DVD I am almost deafened by the volume of the normal TV channels. Is it really true that all DVD players are like this, and if so how do other people cope with the problem I describe?
Thanks.
Scan SC-2500 audio level and RGB centering problems?
I`ve just bought one of these players and am very happy with the build quality and picture.
However, there are a couple of points I am not so happy with and being a first-time DVD owner I don`t know if these are normal. I`m using a SCART connection to the TV (a Panasonic TX25AD2 4:3 telly with Dolby Pro Logic).
1) If the SC-2500 is set to composite video output the picture is centred. When I switch it to RGB output the picture moves about half an inch to the right and is then off-centre.
2) The audio volume from the SC-2500 is very low compared to the VCR or normal TV. Even with the SC-2500 volume set to full I have to set the TV at about 75% volume to get decent audio level. For TV and VCR I usually set the TV to about 30% volume.
Do you think these are faults in the SC-2500?
Thanks.
